Do you choose cosmetics based on their scent?
" I want to be soothed by the scent of skin care at the end of the day ."
I understand that feeling well,
"The smell was the cause of my redness and rashes on my skin!"
This actually happens quite often.
Did you know that in addition to synthetic fragrances, there is also the risk of allergies to the essential oils used in organic and natural cosmetics?
Read this article: Hidden harmful substances in cosmetic fragrances
The risks of essential oils
Natural essential oils contain more impurities than chemically produced synthetic fragrances.
These impurities may even lead to unexpected allergic reactions.
So, there is a growing awareness in Europe.
The EU Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety has identified 82 fragrance substances as allergenic to humans.
Of these, 28 are natural essential oils and extracts.
Although it is a long list, I have listed them below for your reference when choosing cosmetics.
In addition, the fact that it is an organic essential oil is irrelevant. The quality of an essential oil is not a basis for safety in terms of allergy risk.
(People who are allergic to oranges also have allergic reactions to organic or pesticide-free oranges.)
⇩ If you click on the ingredient name, you can see the US EWG's evaluation of it. Some of them are high risk.

If you are concerned about rough skin or skin problems, we recommend choosing fragrance-free skin care products.
I'm a little biased, but I recommend CONCIO (advertising) ↓
"CONCIO" - A company that thoroughly researches the risks of cosmetic ingredients
CONCIO is the first additive-free skin care product in Japan to receive EWG certification, meeting new standards.
Focusing on the risk of skin irritation and allergies caused by cosmetic ingredients, we strictly adhere to our own safety standards and do not use 2,500 ingredients.
Of course, no synthetic fragrances or essential oils are used.
*This does not guarantee that skin irritation or allergies will not occur in all people.
