Two steps to safe, amazing skin on a global scale
STEP 1.
First, spread the serum around eyes and mouth, or entire face. Just half a dropper do enough.
Yeast extract and sodium hyaluronate contain natural active ingredients moisturize the skin.
At the same time, three carefully selected plant extracts improve the texture and prevent roughness.
*CONCIO uses organic plant extracts that are COSMOS certified.
STEP 2.
Milky cream functions as toner, emulsion, serum and cream just with 1-2 pushes.
Gently spread over face, neck and décolleté.
Contains 9 types of moisturizing ingredients that are said to be most compatible with human sebum.
Soft and moist, without being sticky.
Meet the moisturized skin that you can't live without.
Good-bye sensitive skin
what is "good" and what "looks good" for your skin are different.
This is why cosmetics that appear to be ``gentle on skin'' may irritate your skin.
CONCIO is for people with sensitive skin, as it takes into account all the risk of skin irritation and allergies.
That's why our fans tell us
“The miracle of CONCIO”
Carefully selected ingredients
Saccharomyces lysate extract
Yeast extract containing high concentrations of natural active ingredients.
The active ingredients in yeast extract have the effect of suppressing excess sebum and increasing moisturizing power.
The active ingredients in ordinary yeast extracts are inactivated when treated for long periods of time.
CONCIO contains yeast extract extracted using the titric acid extraction method, which allows for short processing times, and is extracted with a high concentration of natural active ingredients.
Sodium Hyaluronate
Hyaluronic acid is a component that makes up the dermis and epidermis of the skin and is said to decrease with age.
For this reason, it is formulated as a hydrating and moisturizing ingredient to maintain skin firmness and moisture.
One method of producing sodium hyaluronate is to extract it from chicken combs, but CONCIO uses a non-animal-derived sodium hyaluronate made through a fermentation culture method using a type of lactic acid bacteria(*).
*Streptococcus zooepidemicus
Glycyrrhizic acid 2K
Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate is a water-soluble form of glycyrrhizinic acid extracted from the rhizomes and roots of the licorice plant.
Licorice has been used as a medicine (herbal medicine) in various parts of the world since before the Common Era.
Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate has the effect of relieving tingling skin irritation and discomfort, as well as suppressing inflammation, and is often included in acne care products and products for sensitive skin as an ingredient to prevent rough skin.
Rosemary leaf extract (organic)
Rosemary is a type of herb that is often used in cooking and herbal tea. It is a plant that has natural antioxidant and antibacterial properties.
Rosemary contains rosmarinic acid, a type of polyphenol. Incorporating it into your skin care routine will give you fresh, supple skin.
At CONCIO, we use organic rosemary leaf extract that is COSMOS certified, taking into consideration concerns about residual pesticides.
Hawthorn fruit extract (organic)
Hawthorn is a plant of the rose family native to Europe and North Africa. In autumn, it bears small red fruits.
This red fruit is rich in natural polyphenols, flavonoids, vitamins and minerals.
It protects the skin from stress and keeps it balanced.
At CONCIO, we take into consideration concerns about residual pesticides and use organic hawthorn fruit extract that is COSMOS certified.
Lavender flower extract (organic)
An extract extracted from lavender flowers, a herb of the mint family.
The scent of lavender is said to have a relaxing effect, and the extract extracted from it also leaves a faint lavender scent.
Lavender flower extract is said to have an astringent effect that tightens the skin and reduces inflammation.
This ingredient helps balance moisture and sebum levels, leading to smooth, fine-textured skin.
At CONCIO, we use organic lavender flower extract that is COSMOS certified, taking into consideration concerns about residual pesticides.
Ingredients CONCIO never uses
Collapsible content
More than 1200 types of microplastics
Many synthetic polymers in cosmetics are microplastics that are not or may not be biodegradable.
It is added to cosmetics for purposes such as turning liquid into a gel, forming a film on the skin surface, and making cosmetics spread better.
But of course, microplastics themselves have no beauty effects.
Currently, there are no regulations on water-soluble microplastics (synthetic polymers) in most countries, including Japan.
However, CONCIO believes that these ingredients are not friendly to the ocean or the natural environment, and after investigating data from the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), and TAUW, we concluded that they are microplastics. None of our products contain more than 1,200 ingredients that may be biodegradable (or non-biodegradable).
Silicone (silicone oil)
・Methicone
・Dimethicone
・Amodimethicone
・Cyclomethicone
・Phenyl trimethicone
・Trisiloxane
・Cyclopentasiloxane
・Polydimethylsiloxane
・Cyclohexasiloxane
Ingredients named ``methicone'' and ``siloxane'' are silicone (correctly silicone/silicon oil) and are poorly biodegradable.
By adding silicone oil to your cosmetics, you can make your cosmetics feel smooth, light, smooth, and non-sticky.
In addition, because it has excellent water repellency, it is often used as a waterproofing agent or to prevent makeup from fading due to sweat.
Although it improves the feel of cosmetics, it can be achieved to some extent by using alternative ingredients. In addition, because it adheres to the skin so closely, it is necessary to wash it off with something with high detergency, which can put a heavy burden on the skin.
After carefully considering these advantages and disadvantages, CONCIO has decided not to use silicone (silicone/silicon oil) in all of its products.
All PEGs
Polyethylene glycol is a synthetic polymer that has been used in medicines and vaccines.
However, the possibility of skin sensitization due to the daily use of cosmetics containing PEG has begun to be pointed out.
Additionally, there is no clear data on biodegradability, and we do not know to what extent it decomposes in the natural environment.
In many cosmetics, it is added to improve the silkiness of the skin, the ease of spreading and slipping during application, and to provide a moisturizing effect by forming a film on the skin surface.
After examining these advantages and disadvantages, CONCIO decided not to include any of the more than 1000 types of ingredients containing PEG.
All PPG
Polypropylene glycol.
It is used in hair and skin care products.
Like PEG (polyethylene glycol), there is no clear data on biodegradability. It is not known how much it decomposes in the natural environment, and questions remain about its biodegradability.
It is used in many cosmetics as an emollient, emulsifier, and gelling agent to keep the skin soft.
After examining the advantages and disadvantages of each ingredient, CONCIO decided not to include any of the more than 400 ingredients that contain PPG.
Some plant extracts/plant water
Plants have very powerful powers.
Therefore, while some types of plant extracts and plant waters have positive effects on your skin and health, there are also types that have been shown to have negative effects.
For example, there is data suggesting that ginkgo biloba extract and aloe vera leaf extract are carcinogenic, and tea leaf extract is highly allergic, so the International Cosmetic and Fragrance Association has established regulations regarding the amount of these extracts to be added to perfumes.
Comfrey leaf extract has been shown to be carcinogenic and affect reproductive dysfunction, and licorice root extract has been shown to have endocrine disrupting effects, so there are ingredients to be careful of because they are naturally derived.
CONCIO does not contain plant extracts or plant waters that have any data that indicate any concerns, in order to avoid any effects on your skin and health as much as possible.
essential oil
Essential oils are not vegetable oils. It is a natural fragrance made by extracting and condensing only the aromatic substances (fragrance components) of plants. It is a substance with completely different properties from fats and oils such as olive oil and sesame oil.
The scent of essential oils has a great effect, and some types can help balance the autonomic nervous system and hormones, as well as activate the brain.
On the other hand, essential oils tend to cause strong irritation when applied directly to the skin.
The EU's Scientific Committee for Consumer Safety lists 175 fragrances and essential oils as potentially causing skin contact allergies. These 175 types also include the following essential oils.
Essential oils with known allergens in humans
- Bitter orange flower/peel oil
- Bergamot fruit oil
- Bergamot peel oil
- Sweet orange oil
- Lemongrass oil
- jasmine oil
- Hermanus flower oil
- Ylang Ylang Oil
- Odoriferous mallow oil
- Cassia leaf oil
- Eucalyptus leaf oil
- Gukkeiju leaf oil
- Mugo pine leaf oil
- Patchouli leaf oil
- Rosa alba flower oil
- Canina rose oil
- Lavender oil
- Clove flower/leaf/stem oil
-Pencil juniper wood oil
- Mentha flower/leaf/stem oil
- Peruvian balsam oil
- Sandalwood oil
Essential oils that may be allergenic in humans
- Bitter orange peel oil
- Bitter orange leaf oil
- Mandarin orange peel oil
- Cucumber oil
- Cedar wood oil
- Hiloharavender flower oil
- Salvia flower/leaf/stem oil
- sage oil
- Thyme flower/leaf oil
At CONCIO, we do not include all types of essential oils in consideration of the possibility of allergies due to long-term use and the impact essential oils have on the skin and health.
synthetic fragrance
Including natural and synthetic fragrances, there are 2,500 to 3,000 types of fragrances used in cosmetics.
Some synthetic fragrances are highly irritating to the skin. In addition, some products may contain chemicals that can cause allergens, and repeated skin contact with these chemicals can lead to an allergic reaction.
It is said that once allergic symptoms such as redness, rash, and swelling of the skin occur, the allergic reaction to that substance (ingredient) will last a lifetime.
The same can be said for hand creams and body creams that are used on areas other than the face.
Currently, in the EU, there are regulations on the combination of 26 types of aromatic substances, and there are plans to increase the number to over 100 types in the future.
Considering these risks and circumstances, CONCIO does not contain any synthetic fragrances, regardless of whether fragrances are regulated in Japan.
synthetic coloring agent
"Color + number" components such as "Yellow 4" and "Blue 1" may be synthetic tar pigments. Tar pigment is a carcinogen recognized by the International Agency for Research on Cancer.
It is a complex composition of chemicals that include benzene, toluene, naphthalene, and anthracene, which are known to be carcinogenic, and there have been cases where tumors have occurred when continuously applied to the skin.
Some tar pigments are absorbed through weakened skin and some are highly irritating to mucous membranes, so be especially careful when using them when your skin is in poor condition or around the eyes and mouth, where mucous membranes are easily touched. It's an ingredient.
If colorants are not used in cosmetics that contain many natural ingredients, the color of the contents tends to change from production lot to production lot due to uneven coloring of the natural ingredients used.
At CONCIO, we believe that if customers understand the difference in color caused by natural ingredients, there is no need for synthetic colorants in skin care products, so we have chosen to encourage customer understanding rather than using synthetic colorants.
Paraben
It is a preservative that exhibits high preservative power when added in small amounts. There are multiple types of parabens as listed below.
- Methylparaben
- Ethylparaben
- Propylparaben
- Butylparaben
- Isopropylparaben
In addition to causing skin irritation for some people, it is said to be an endocrine disruptor that affects hormones, and its strong connection to breast cancer has been debated for many years.
Parabens are absorbed through the skin and travel through the body in the bloodstream. So far, it has been detected in breast milk, blood, and breast cancer tumors.
Many aspects of the health effects of parabens are unclear, and we cannot be certain of their safety. Therefore, CONCIO does not contain parabens in any of its products.
phenoxyethanol
This ingredient is used as a preservative. Parabens are increasingly being used as an alternative preservative for those who dislike parabens.
For safety reasons, in Japan it is required to contain less than 1%.
Some people may feel a stinging sensation on their skin, and if a baby accidentally swallows it, it may cause vomiting or diarrhea.
After examining the advantages and disadvantages of adding phenoxyethanol based on currently available information and data, CONCIO has decided not to include phenoxyethanol in all of its products.
All old labeled ingredients
There are 102 ingredients that were required to be labeled on cosmetics because they could cause skin problems such as allergies in rare cases depending on the person using them.
Due to the revision of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law in 2001, this system was abolished in favor of listing all ingredients used, so it is now called the old designated ingredients.
It also contains synthetic ingredients derived from petroleum, synthetic surfactants, tar-based pigments, and synthetic preservatives such as parabens.
- Setanol
- Cetearyl alcohol
- Sodium laureth sulfate
- Sodium lauryl sulfate
- benzyl alcohol
- Tocopherol
- Dehydroacetic acid (Na)
- Benzalkonium chloride
- Behentrimonium chloride
- Distearyldimonium chloride
- Triclocarban
- Triclosan
- DMDM Hydantoin
- Isopropyl myristate
- Lanolin
- Lanolin alcohol
- PEG lanolin
- Sodium lauroyl sarcosine
- DIPA, TIPA
- Alkyl (C12-14) diaminoethylglycine HCI
- Sodium alkylbenzenesulfonate
- Iktamol
- Undecylenic acid (MEA)
- Ethyl PABA
- catechol
- Guaiazulene
- Sodium guaiazulene sulfonate
- Cresol
- Cloflucarban
- Chloramine T
- Sodium salicylate
- Cinoxate etc.
It is said that some ingredients are now considered safe because they have improved chemically since 1980, when they were designated as labeled.
However, CONCIO, which aims to provide psychological peace of mind for customers and higher safety, does not contain all 102 ingredients specified in the old label.
Organic fluorine compounds (PFAS) and ingredients that may contain PFAS
PFAS are organic fluorine compounds that are associated with health effects such as cancer, arteriosclerosis, hormonal abnormalities, immune system disorders, and developmental disorders.
It is called a "forever chemical" because it is resistant to heat, repels water and oil, and does not decompose in the natural environment.
It is said that there are over 9,000 types of PFAS, and it is almost impossible to research all the names of ingredients that may contain PFAS.
- Perfluoroalkyl (C4-14) ethoxy dimethicone
- Perfluorooctyltiltriethoxylan
- Trifluoroalkyldimethyltrimethylsiloxysilicic acid
Ingredients with "Fluoro" in the name, such as , may contain PFAS, so CONCIO uses this as a criterion and does not include ingredients with "Fluoro" in the name of all products. plug.
DEA, TEA, MEA (ethanolamine)
DEA (diethanolamine), TEA (triethanolamine), MEA (monoethanolamine) are ethanolamines (chemicals composed of amino acids and alcohol).
Sometimes they are blended alone, and sometimes chemical ingredients containing them are blended into cosmetics for purposes such as emulsifiers, cleansing agents, and foaming agents under the ingredient names listed below.
- Cocamide DEA
- Cocamide MEA
- Cetyl phosphate DEA
-Oles-10 phosphate DEA
-Lauramide DEA
- Lauryl sulfate TEA
When ethanolamine is mixed with certain ingredients, substances called nitrosamines can be formed.
Nitrosamines are a collective term for multiple substances recognized as carcinogenic by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, and it is said that there are 15 types of nitrosamines that are carcinogenic to humans.
After carefully considering the merits and demerits of its inclusion, CONCIO does not include ingredients containing ethanolamine in any of its products.
alcohol (ethanol)
Alcohol (ethanol) is added to cosmetics to make ingredients more soluble and to act as a preservative.
It also has the property of making it easier for other ingredients to penetrate the skin.
This property can be used to promote the penetration of active ingredients, but it also makes it easier for other ingredients to penetrate.
People who are sensitive to alcohol or have sensitive skin may experience a stinging or irritating reaction to the alcohol in cosmetics.
At CONCIO, all of our products do not contain alcohol (ethanol) in order to minimize skin irritation as much as possible.
mineral oil
Mineral oil is an oil synthesized from petroleum.
Also called mineral oil (liquid paraffin), petrolatum and microcrystalline wax are also mineral oils. It is used as a moisturizer in cosmetics.
While petrolatum in particular is said to be so safe that it is used as a dermatological drug, there are concerns that mineral oil may contain impurities such as carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH).
When highly refined to cosmetic grade, it is thought that there will be no PAH contamination, but CONCIO does not use mineral oil, considering the sustainability of procurement.
Sulfuric acid/sulfate
This refers to all sulfuric acid-based ingredients, including the former designated ingredients, sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate.
In cosmetics, it is mainly added as a surfactant.
Among sulfates, sodium lauryl sulfate is known to be particularly harmful to the skin.
One study found that 42% of 1,600 people who underwent a patch test had skin irritation reactions such as redness, dryness, itching, and stinging.
Although this may not be a problem when used in small amounts, CONCIO has decided not to include all sulfuric acid and sulfates after reviewing the currently available data.
Petroleum-based synthetic surfactant
- Sodium lauryl sulfate
- Sodium lauryl sulfonate
- Sodium xylene sulfonate
- Sodium polyoxyethylene lauryl ether sulfate
- Polyoxyethylene octylphenol ether
- Pares-Sodium trisulfate
- pares-ammonium sulfate
- Triethanolamine
- edetate
These are generally referred to as petroleum-based synthetic surfactants.
Alcohol-based synthetic surfactants are also sometimes referred to as petroleum-based synthetic surfactants.
Petroleum-based synthetic surfactants have stronger cleaning and degreasing power than naturally derived surfactants, and are said to place a greater burden on the skin.
CONCIO aims to create formulations that bring out the skin's natural strength, and does not use any petroleum-based synthetic surfactants.
All other ingredients deemed unnecessary by CONCIO's own standards for healthy skin, health, and protection of the global environment.
CONCIO discloses ingredients we don't use here .
